Sheet Material

Sheet material we have on offer are suitable for structural projects as well as small DIY ventures. We keep our variety sheets in two sizes: 2440x1220mm and a more convenient tongue and groove 2400x600mm. These items are typically used for structural support on walls, ceilings, and floors.

Sheet Material Products

Softwood Ply

Softwood plywood, or shuttering ply, contains a core made up of various softwoods such as pine, Douglas-fir or spruce. Then it’s veneered with any of these softwoods for both faces.

Our softwood ply typically comes in C+/C grade. The grade often refers to the appearance of the board, so in this case the C+ grade refers to the presence of filled and repaired knots, while C grade refers to open knots. So, provided the appearance isn’t a concern, softwood ply makes for a cost effective structural component.

Sizes:

Available in 12mm and 18mm thicknesses in 2440x1220mm sheets.

OSB-3

The OSB-3 grade denotes that this product can be used as a load bearing board in humid environments. By using high grade adhesive to bind softwood residue, the OSB-3 makes for a cost-effective sheet material with a broad range of applications.

Sizes:

Available in 18mm and 11mm thicknesses in 2440x1220mm sheets.

As well as an easy-to-use tongue and groove 18mm thickness at a convenient 2400mm x 600mm size

MDF

Our moisture resistant MDF sheet materials are known for their ease of use and multiple applications. Made by heat compressing hardwood and softwood particles mixed in with a high-quality wax. It’s commonly used for furniture, cabinets, panelling and flooring.

Hardwood Ply

Similar to the softwood ply, but the core contains hardwoods such as oak, birch, and walnut. Then Veneered with one of those hardwoods.

Our hardwood ply typically comes Class 2 exterior B/BB grade. The B grade means the face of the ply shows off the natural grain of the hardwood, often displaying the natural change in colour seen in the grain pattern. Only small and smooth knots can be seen (15-35mm in diameter), and should be free from open knots. This allows for a beautiful finish when painting or staining.

Class 2 exterior means it’s suitable for use in humid conditions, protected external applications and interior use where the moisture content proceeds the limit of class 1. For example: cold roofs, ground floors and external timber frame walls.
